The stock on this early Mini-14 was just too “blocky” feeling. So I laminated additional wood onto the grip area and shaped it the way I wanted. I put a fairly soft rubber recoil pad on it so the stock wouldn’t slip on my shoulder and did a trigger polish job on it. It just seemed to want to be finished in black, and it became one of my favorite guns to shoot.
