The Ruger 10/22 is one of the best-designed .22s on the market. This particular one I purchased when I was 17. It has been fired well over 500,000 times, and the action parts still show no significant wear.
I can’t remember it ever jamming; however I did replace a firing pin at one point years ago. I totally washed out the original barrel and had to replace it. The stainless steel barrel you see here I bought for $5.00. It was so beat up, (I think someone used it as a bat), I couldn’t save the front barrel band/sight block. I simply cut it off and re-crowned the barrel. I sanded out all the dings and dents and polished it. This barrel is exceptionally accurate for a standard barrel.
I have reworked the stock several times over the years, and at one point I decided I would try my hand at inlaying. The tip of the forend is desert ironwood.
