A good friend of mine brought me a rifle with a broken stock and a piece of Mesquite that he had carefully cut and cured himself. He told me he wanted a thumb-hole stock and to use my imagination. I got a little carried away with the wild design, so that I wondered if he would even like it when I delivered it to him. Fortunately, he liked it a lot, and reported to me that it shoots nice tight groups also. (Whew!) His registered cattle brand is laser engraved below the forend.
